Repainting the Elvis Rock

The Elvis Rock is a local landmark, a huge rock at the side of the A44 with the word, ‘ELVIS’, painted on it. There are lots of stories about who originally created it (and you can read some of them here) but little knowledge about who it was who might have maintained it for all these years. Some years ago, I was in the Angel in Aberystwyth one New Year’s Eve and I got talking to a craggy old biker about his life and adventures. My imagination wrote him into the story, and the poem then seemed to write itself.
